SURFACE PREPARATION & PONDING PROTOCOLS

High-Pressure Power Washing (2,500 - 3,500 PSI)

Roof surface must be free of grease, algae, biological growth, dirt, and loose roof granules. Use biodegradable TSP-substitute cleaner where needed; rinse thoroughly.

Ponding Basin & Flashing Detailing

Moisture Content Testing (ASTM D4263)

Permakote Plus contains high-density solids (72% wt). Power-mix using a heavy-duty electric drill with an aggressive spiral dispersion paddle for 3 to 5 minutes until consistency is smooth, creamy, and completely uniform.

Airless Spray Application

Yes. Permakote Plus exhibits tenacious chemical adhesion directly onto weathered TPO and EPDM single-ply membranes once properly power washed. For modified bitumen, smooth asphalt BUR, or raw asphaltic emulsions, we recommend our Bleed-Block Acrylic Primer to lock in asphaltic oils and prevent bleed-through discoloration before coating.
Permakote Plus develops quick surface skinning in approximately 2 hours under standard drying conditions (75°F / 50% Relative Humidity). While it resists early dew, we advise applying only when no freezing temperatures or driving torrential rains are forecasted within 4 to 6 hours of spray completion.
