1 – UNIQUE Intumescent Putty
In general, all firestop sleeve systems and endcap systems of UNIQUE have what is usually considered an average 22% cable load and a max 48% cable load. Most installers think that’s regular, but sometimes situations can be different. If a firestop cable sleeve is installed with less than 25% cable load is done, more intumescent putty will need to be used in the sleeve system to bring the firewall rating back. That extra putty is actually provided for that reason; it helps so smoke, flames, or other gases don’t get through the house before it’s time to leave the building, which is very important in emergencies. For the right way to fill putty, based on how it’ll be used, consult a UL System page that was made for that process. Order an additional intumescent Putty Fill Kit here.
