Flamex PF-2

exterior wood fire retardant helps protect wood from fire by developing a carbon char formation. It is a long lasting, stainable water-based fire retardant penetrant. It also works as a clear sealer, and anti-termite inhibitor. This exterior formula protects the wood by developing a self-extinguishing reaction. When properly applied, the wood shall have a Class A rating.

Flamex PF-2 exterior wood fire retardant contains an nano emulsion sealant that maintains fire protection for up to 5 years or longer for exterior applications, and a permanent interior application.

Flamex PF-2 exterior wood fire retardant is stainable once cured. Laboratory tested as a leach resistant treatment.

The durability of exterior performance for Flamex PF-2 on treated lumber has been confirmed to be maintained following exposure to the Standard Test Method for Evaluating Clear Water Repellent Coatings detailed in American Standard Test Method ASTM D5401 and is classified in accordance with ASTM E-84 Steiner Tunnel Test, meeting the requirements of US Standards for use in all exterior applications.

Flamex PF-2 exterior wood fire retardant is non-hygroscopic which overcomes many of the disadvantages of conventional fire retardants.

Apply Flamex PF-2 exterior wood fire retardant on wood decks, fencing, framing, roof sheathing, wood shingles, etc. It performs considerably better than conventional fire retardant systems in this respect. Does not contribute to the corrosion rates of metals.

Flamex PF-2 has a proven track record and can be used for all exterior applications. Class A rated with a Flame Spread of 25 and Smoke Developed of 70 on wood. It is recommended that the treatment be reapplied every 2-5 years…depending on rainfall amount.

When Using This Product: Apply at 125 sq ft per gallon Do not mix with other products Shake or mix well before using Do not allow to freeze Do not lay on another surface when wet to prevent mold and absorption by the other surface Store in original container away from sunlight and heat Pretest for applicability and colorfastness. The surface must be porous, clean, and dry prior to application.

Once applied and fully cured for 48 hours, the wood surface may be stained with an exterior water based stain. Clean hands & equipment with soap and warm water. Apply only when air temperature is at 50° F and above for 24 hours minimum. Do not add tint or dyes! Do not expose treated areas to rain for 48 hours!

**Not recommended for newly stained surfaces. This product must penetrate the pores in order to preform correctly. Test surface by spraying water onto it, and wait a few seconds. If the water beads up, the substrate is not treatable.
